The Eight types of magic & their subsets Xys0l3c

Every living thing, whether they be human or animal, has magoi in their body. Most people are unable to manipulate it properly, with very few non-mages being able to manipulate it at all. However, every so often a genetic freak is born that manages to control the magoi in their body and form it into at least one of the eight basic magic types. However, either through being a natural prodigy or through long stints of hard practice, people can go on to learn almost every other form of magic out there, though it will take time, effort and a lot of practice to get right.

Type 1 - Heat Magic

Spoiler:

Heat Magic orders the rukh to convert into heat or flames. It is the first type of magic; magicians who are first-type are known as "Red Magicians". This is primarily used as a form of offense, but by using it to create strong thermal currents or destroying projectiles, it can also be used for a form of defense. However, due to the law of conservation of energy, if used for too long the air can over heat and injure the user as well.

Complimentary Magic: Wind Magic
Strong Against: Wind Magic
Weak Against: Water Magic

Type 2 - Water Magic

Spoiler:

Water Magic orders Rukh to gather water from the moisture in the air. It can be used in various ways, such as: evaporating the water in the immediate vicinity to burn the target (this is not that powerful) or in combat where water is used to create water balls around oneself to attack and defend from an enemy. Furthermore, the sheer water pressure of a concentrated blast of water is able to slice through or push large objects. Unfortunately, a lot of the techniques used by this magic have little to no control over collateral damage, and those that do are person-specific.

Complimentary Magic: Sound Magic
Strong Against: Heat Magic
Weak Against: Lightning Magic

Type 3 - Light Magic

Spoiler:

Light Magic is orders the Rukh that produce Magoi to change into concentrated light energy. Due to the high energy content in light, it's able to deal burning damage and to blind opponents, although this is done immediately rather than the long-term and more significant burning that comes from FIre Magic. This type is also capable of casting illusions, whether it be to change one's appearance or implanting an image in the mind of various person. Yet, because of the nature of this energy form, it's very susceptible to collateral damage and is best done by those with protective eye-gear.

Complimentary Magic: Strength Magic

Type 4 - Lightning Magic

Spoiler:
Lightning Magic orders the Rukh to change into concentrated electrical energy. Lightning attacks work by electrocuting the opponents to various degrees, and there are spells that are said to be capable of completely paralyzing enemies, due to the extremely high voltage of the electricity employed in their use. Because of the high amounts of light produced with its use, Lightning Magic can also be utilized to blind opponents, albeit for a short amount of time. Unfortunately, if used whilst wet or during a thunderstorm, this magic is as likely to hurt the user as it is to hurt the opponent.

Complimentary Magic: Life Magic
Strong Against: Water Magic
Weak Against: Wind Magic

Type 5 - Wind Magic
Spoiler:

Wind Magic orders the Rukh to change into strong bursts of wind. Due to the sheer gale-force speeds this magic can create, this magic is best used for knocking opponents around the battlefield or for high-speed transport. Yet, at the same time, well-trained magicians will be able to make very precise currents able to cut through steel, rock and people alike. However, due to the circular nature of the currents, the user has to be careful to avoid getting some form of blow-back from dirt that's picked up by the current.

Complimentary Magic: Fire Magic
Strong Against: Lightning Magic
Weak Against: Heat Magic

Type 6 - Sound Magic

Spoiler:

Sound magic orders the rukh to change into bursts of pure sound energy, causing vibrations strong enough to turn stone into sand and to blast things across a battlefield. Due to being formed out of sound energy, they can't be seen, but it quickly wears out the user's throat, resulting in a magic that's extremely powerful but can only be used a few times without exhaustion.

Complimentary Magic: Water Magic

Type 7 - Strength Magic

Spoiler:

Strength magic is the purest form of magic, as it orders the rukh to change the world around the user. It can twist things, smash them, make them float or fire projectiles of pure force. However, despite the fact that it might seem like something made out of pure force would be able to go unnoticed by people, it's not. Strength Magic radiates black light, and the stronger the magic spell, the stronger the light that shines off it.

Complimentary Magic: Light Magic

Type 8 - Life Magic

Spoiler:

Life Magicis a type of magic where the magician orders the rukh to convert and create various life forms; such as monsters from pre-existing materials whether big, microscopic or nothing. However, it can also change the nature of animals and turn them from, for example, a dog to a human. The only issue is this doesn't work against creatures with too much rukh, such as a human or a dungeon beast.

Magical Sub-types

Although there are eight magic types, there are four other sub-types that are able to be used by magical specialists. These magic types fall under larger magic types due to the way they are used. This is not to say that they are usable by all people who train in this art, sub-types need to be trained by the magic user - 1000 words per type. However, they also require being used by those who already have that magic type known to them, and so someone who doesn't know water magic can't know ice magic.

Ice Magic

Spoiler:

Prerequisite magic: Water Magic

Ice Magic works via freezing the water particles in the ice, causing the user to be able to create weapons, objects, or even just projectiles out of solid ice.Due to the way that it's used, it's next to impossible to injure yourself whilst using it. Lightning is less effective due to the specific molecular bonding of the ice, but it instead gains a weakness to heat magic, melting it and turning it right back into water magic.

Gravity Magic

Spoiler:

Prerequisite Magic: Strength Magic

Gravity magic is quite singular in its use - By manipulating the rukh, it manipulates the force of gravity, either by increasing it, decreasing it or making a new center of gravity and thus repulsing or attracting people to you for use in battle. This magic's main strength relies on forcing people into objects, as using it to increase gravity is extremely dangerous due to collateral damage.

Healing Magic

Spoiler:

Prerequisite Magic: Life Magic

Healing magic is a specialist use of life magic - It orders the rukh to heal poison, illnesses, fatigue and even physical injuries. There are some rumors that this magic, when taken to the extreme, can be used to bring people back from the dead by using the rukh to reform their corporeal form. However, if this is true, it can only be done within minutes of the death taking place. However, every day use of this magic is extremely common, and is most often practiced by members of the Devan faith.

Clairvoyance Magic

Spoiler:

Pre-requisite Magic: Water Magic

Clairvoyance magic is a magic used to tell the past or future, communicating over long distances, viewing current events in different locations and many other things. It is a magic that is used mostly to gather the truth on a subject or matter, since this magic always shows the truth and can't be altered. However, this puts a mental strain on the person who's using it due to the amount of information that they are getting, and thus they are not able to do this during battle.
